This establishment is present and bears witness to Barcelona's movement since the late nineteenth century. Founded as Fonda Navarro, first as a winery, and later as a food house. In 1940, the place changed hands and was renamed Ca L'Estevet. However, she was also known as "La Mariona", daughter of the owner, who initially catered to the singularly varied clientele with memorable "desparpajo" and grace. Ca L'Estevet is recorded in the history of the city as a unifier of certain nuclei of Barcelona society, which had its great moment from the formation and outcome of the ineffable "gauche divine".
