Tomato from Bages
Grown with the properties originated by the microclimate of the valleys of Montcau, in Bages, the Bages tomato is a delicate vegetable with low productivity that has a slightly sweet and refreshing taste.
Also known as Montserrat tomato, it is a truth that presents several subspecies such as the pink tomato of the Cardener or Mura. The local variety of pink tomato of the Cardener is pink, empty and late, which is grown in the Mig Cardener area. It is a variety very well adapted to the area, uniform in characteristics and large dimensions. The pink Mura tomato is watered by the springs located in the Natural Park of Sant Llorenç del Munt and is ideal for salads or fillings. The main component of tomatoes is water, and therefore their energy value is very low. The sugar content is slightly higher than other vegetables, which gives it a slightly sweeter taste.
