For generations the farmhouse of Can Mandó, within the Natural Park of the Serra Collserola, has preserved the variety of tomato.

It is a traditional local variety that is mainly characterized by its large, full, tasty fruit, spherical-flattened shape and thin skin of red-orange coloration. This August 2016 begins the second season of commercialization of this tomato, which has recovered after years of work. The Mandó de Collserola has been recovered from the initiative and effort of local farmers, in a project that has had the support of the Natural Park Consortium. Reaching commercialization has been possible after years of work to fix the variety and guarantee its original purity.

Attributes and nutritional properties

Its importance lies in the high contribution of vitamins, minerals and fiber. It has a high antioxidant effect thanks to its content of vitamins E and C and carotenoids.
