Collsacabra bean

The cultivation of this bean variety in Collsacabra is quite recent, it is not more than fifty years old. It replaced the usual local bean, known as the 'Sierra bean'. Its production is very scarce and is in regression.

With a creamy skin, small size and tenderness difficult to find in other varieties of beans, Collsacabra is a bean highly appreciated by the gastronomic sector but difficult to find.

It is a very recent variety, with no more than 50 years of life. Despite replacing the usual Osona bean, known as mountain beans, its production is very scarce and is in decline. Very small in size and with dark skin, Collsacabra beans are low bush and also stand out for their quick cooking. The properties of the bean make it ideal to accompany both meat and fish, and we can find it mainly in local restaurants in the region
