The Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) is the name that identifies a product originating from a specific place, region or country, which has a certain quality, reputation or other characteristic that can be essentially attributed to its geographical origin, and of which at least one of the phases of production, transformation or elaboration is carried out by the defined geographical area.
