Land of pulses for more than five centuries, the land of Vallès Oriental is home to up to 22 varieties of beans. Coming from the entry of American beans in the fifteenth century, the diversity of legumes in the Vallès region offers a series of unique beans.
Of the Carall, of the Crochet, of the Knee of Christ, the Black Renega, the Partridge's Eye, of the Tailor... the beans of the Vallès Oriental, recently recovered thanks to the coordination of the Consell Comarcal del Vallès Oriental, member of the Xarxa Productes de la Terra, together with the involvement of other organizations and entities, have a high nutritional value.
