Succulent meat
Traditionally grown in Osona, iron squash is a highly appreciated variety in the area, ideal for stew eating. It has a characteristic orange color on the inside, and greener shades, pale and with rusty spots on the outside.
Recognized as a variety of high quality, it stands out for its succulent meat, and for being able to taste both stewed and fried, boiled, gratin or in the form of soup or cream. The season of this garden product begins in July and ends in November.
