Lactium, the Catalan cheese show, is an event co-organized by the Vic City Council and ACREFA, the Catalan Association of Farmers and Artisan Cheese Makers. This year the Gastroteca collaborates.

The presence of 40 Catalan and artisan cheese shops from all over the country, a collection of more than 200 cheeses to taste and buy on the cut, confirm Lactium as the largest cheese market in Catalonia.

The TxisBar. The space where you can taste and discover the best cheeses present in the exhibition, cut and served at the moment to enjoy them in the Jaume Balmes Park in the company of a glass of wine.

The BonPreu-Esclat Cheese Room. A tent with a capacity for 45 people, will host the program of 10 activities with cheeses as protagonists. A space where you can discover the gastronomic, landscape and cultural story of cheese by the hand of cheese makers and specialists

TxisArts. Lactium's most versatile stage, with live music programming, family shows, the Lactium Competition Awards ceremony and the live choice of the Best Catalan Lactium-Gastroteca Cheese Award

Milk of Catalan Goats. Hand in hand with the Llet de Cabres Catalanes seal, Lactium opens a new activity space, where livestock, livestock farmers and the territory will be the protagonists.

The reference cheese contest in Catalonia recovers normality and will hold the Jury's deliberations on Saturday, May 14 during the morning at the Casa Ricart in Vic. In parallel, two jury tasting sessions will be held that will take place in the previous weeks in unique locations, and where two categories called for the Competition will be evaluated.

Within the framework of normality, the Lactium Contest recovers the categories of Mató and Fermented Milks, thus convening a total of 15 categories to the Contest and more than 70 specialists as members of the jury. One more year, during the Awards ceremony, the Best Catalan Lactium-Gastroteca 2022 Cheese Award will be chosen in rigorous live and the Sustainable Cheese Award will be announced, recognizing an initiative around good practices towards sustainability among Catalan cheese shops.
