Siurana oil

The protected denomination of origin of Siurana is the outcome of centuries of olive oil production in the Camp de Tarragona and a long history in the development of Reus as one of the main oil-making centres of Catalonia. The production area is split into two different regions: one inland, situated in the Montsant and Llena hills, and the other further to the east, in the region of Camp de Tarragona. The varieties covered by the protected designation of origin are the Arbequina, Rojal and Morruda. Of these three, the Arbequina is the primary variety in that 90% of the olives used to make the oil come from this variety.

The olive oil covered by the Siurana PDO is extra virgin olive oil with under 0.5% acidity and a maximum peroxide value of 15%.
