‘Punyetes' were first created several decades ago in Roquetes, in keeping with the tradition for sweet cuisine in the Ebre region, and are now very popular.

The punyeta is a round biscuit with a crimped edge and an almond on top. The dough is made from olive oil, sugar, mistela, aniseed and flour, and filled with a mixture of eggs, sugar, milk and almonds.
