The Prat breed, autochthonous to the Baix Llobregat region, has green feathers that in the roosters have metallic highlights and in the hens are dark black. They can also be identified from the typical slate blue colour of the legs and claws. Their comb is bright red and their beak dark. Prat chickens and capons are fed on 70% cereals and reared for at least 90 days (roosters) and 182 days (capons). Growth hormones are prohibited and they are reared in spaces where there are no more than 8 animals per square metre. The outcome is meat that is delicate, tender and not too fatty.
