‘Coca de Vilafranca' became popular at the end of the 18th century due to the fact that it was sold by the roads and travellers on their way to Barcelona or Tarragona used to buy.

Long and soft, they were baked in the oven and prepared with a dought with cumin and anise. These pasteries are 30 to 40 cm long and 1 cm thick and theri main ingredients are flour, eggs, sugar and butter.
